Our Cambridge School of Art stand is all ready for this years Children’s Book Fair in Bologna and looking very promising. So much talent being represented! And my debut picture book Sadness, a user manual is already showcased at the stand from Andersen Press! I’ve just spotted it as we are almost neighbors at the fair. It will be published in January 2019 but they are still busy selling the translation rights. The list of co-editions keeps growing!
Me and creativity have some work to do today. I hope he cooperates.
What a wonderful week it has been, full of friends and family visiting and reading as many books as possible from my fellow graduates. I tried to read them all but I’m afraid I didn’t manage. Here my dear mother and sister are in front of my stand reading my books. I feel blessed, to be surrounded by so many friends and family. And a little sad now I’m finally realizing this adventure of studying the MA Children’s Book Illustration is really coming to an end. I’ve met so many lovely people – and have been guided by very inspiring tutors as well. I shall miss it all dearly and at the same time I am looking forward to the next adventures.
Like the International Children’s Book Fair in Bologna where I’ll have my work represented at the Cambridge School of Art stand with most other graduates.
This is it. Degree show is up. Nothing I can do about it anymore. Sorry.
Another project I’ve been working on, about the creative process. Do you ever feel nostalgic about the time in your life where you would just draw, without thinking, as a child? I wonder sometimes what happens when I let her be in charge. Maybe my ideas would be more obedient, like this lot here, and they would just follow me. Hopefully I’ll manage to have this book ready as well for the degree show next week. Check @csacbi for more details and artwork by my talented fellow students.
